University of the Sunshine Coast advanced-level Design students will showcase their digital design and commercial graphic portfolios in a new exhibition, Absolut Edition., opening at USC’s Art Gallery at 6.30pm on Friday 6 November.
The annual student portfolio exhibition incorporates graphic design, animation, illustration, magazine layouts, web sites, digital prints and e-media produced by the students over the past three years.
USC Gallery Assistant Curator Lou Jaeger said Absolut Edition. would showcase the creative work and broad range of concepts created by USC students about to embark on careers in the creative industries.
“This innovative exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for industry representatives to see examples of the work being produced by the latest group of talented designers here at USC,” Ms Jaeger said.
“We are delighted to welcome world-renowned designer and guest speaker Luke Humble, Managing Director of Italic Creative, to officially open this year’s event.
“Our gallery sponsor of student work, the Proost-De Deyne family, supports prizes for outstanding portfolios, which are awarded at the exhibition opening night.”
The exhibition will be on display from Thursday 5 November until Saturday 21 November at the USC Gallery.
The gallery is located at the University campus on Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs. It is open free to the public from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, and is closed Sundays and public holidays.
