Amy Mills of Redcliffe recently graduated from USC with a Bachelor of Public Relations and is already working for a company on the cutting edge of social media marketing.
A Grace Lutheran College graduate, Amy, 21, is now a talent manager for 3W Social Media, a Brisbane-based company that recruits and promotes popular bloggers and social media identities to businesses.
“We recruit people who already have huge social media followings to be ambassadors, then we match them with the businesses they can promote to their followers,” Amy said.
“My role includes looking after our ambassadors and writing everything from business proposals to media kits and content for our website.
“Attending a young, dynamic university and being Generation Y has really prepared me for this type of work which didn’t exist for earlier generations.
“My studies at USC taught me how to be a very versatile writer and an open-minded, flexible worker and this job with 3W Social Media is a fantastic opportunity.
Amy said she had investigated going to university in Brisbane but was glad she decided on USC.
“I think there were great advantages to studying at a smaller university,” she said. “The teaching staff were very accessible and helpful and the whole atmosphere was really supportive and positive.
“Through USC I was able to attend the Public Relations Institute of Australia conference in Brisbane last year, which was an amazing opportunity and something I might not have been able to do if I’d attended a different university.
Applications are now open to start studying at USC mid-year. For more information visit the mid-year website or contact Student Administration on 5430 2890 or email information@usc.edu.au.
