Saving Legs and Lives Trial

Have you undergone a revascularisation or surgical procedure for leg artery disease?

If you have undergone a vascular procedure for peripheral artery disease (PAD) in the last 12 months, you may be eligible to take part in a trial. The Saving Legs & Lives Trial is testing the benefit of cardiovascular rehabilitation in people who have undergone leg vascular surgery for PAD.

What's involved

The trial will involve a 6-week cardiovascular rehabilitation program including two supervised exercise sessions per week, and one education seminar delivered by healthcare professionals. Participants will also be asked to attend assessment visits (including walking tests, vascular function tests, and questionnaires) before and after the program.

Where is the trial based?

The cardiovascular rehabilitation program will be delivered at the Sports Hub (Bokarina). Assessment visits will be held at the University of the Sunshine Coast (Sippy Down campus), and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Transport and Parking

We will offer to assist with parking-related fees up to $20 per visit for the assessment visits.
