The University of the Sunshine Coast is committed to creating a work and study environment which values the rich diversity of its staff and students. A range of resources and opportunities are available to staff to enhance their understanding of other cultures.
Cultural awareness training
Reconciliation Australia’s Share our Pride is a self-paced, online resource that offers an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective on our shared history and culture, explores common myths and provides guidance on building respectful relationships. It is recommended that all new staff visit Reconciliation Australia’s website and Share our Pride, and refer back to the contents when necessary.
Staff are also encouraged to participate in various cultural experiences and learning opportunities that are available.
“Racism. It stops with me"
The University of the Sunshine Coast is a proud signatory to the Australian Human Rights Commission campaign "Racism. It stops with me". The campaign is part of the National Anti-Racism Strategy which encourages us all to work together by taking action against racism, in all its different forms. For more information about the campaign and access to resources go to "Racism. It stops with me".
