Nicole works in the Field Education team who work to arrange and support field education placements for Social Work students, liaising between students, agencies and the university. Placements provide students with opportunities to engage and develop Social Work knowledge, values, theories and skills in practice settings.
Nicole is an experienced Social Worker, having worked in the field for 25 years. She is passionate about building meaningful working relationships with individuals, families and communities to support positive and sustainable change. She aims to foster the development of social work graduates who have a strong ethical framework and the ability to articulate their knowledge and practice frameworks clearly through her work in Field Education and supervision.
Prior to working in Social Work education, Nicole’s professional practice has been in both Queensland Health and the non-government sector working with individuals and families experiencing issues relating to mental health, disability and complex trauma. She has worked across the lifespan with young children, adolescents, and families. She also has experience in Mental Health Policy and training.
