Brandon is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems with an interest in supporting the development and implementation of safe and effective advanced technologies.
Brandon recently started work on Professor Paul Salmon’s Australian Research Council Discovery Project titled ‘A new model of teamwork for Human-Autonomy Teams’. He has previously supported projects identifying the risks of artificial general intelligence systems, developing an ethical AI framework for defence, identifying risks of future technologies, and training and evaluating Queensland Health practitioners in the use of systems thinking methods.
Brandon was awarded his PhD from the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2024. His dissertation focused on identifying the risks that future invasive brain-computer interface will introduce across their lifecycle, alongside strategies to control these risks.
