John Chapman

John Chapman is an Adjunct Professor at UniSC and researcher with the Australian Centre for Pacific Islands Research (ACPIR). He holds qualifications in both science and business administration. John consults on the citrus and minor tropical fruit components on ACPIR’s Pacific Fruit research projects on across Tonga, Fiji and Samoa. John has a number of Australian based consultancies. He holds positions of Chair of the Australian Strawberry Propagators Accreditation Authority (ASPAA), and Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation an Institute at UQ.

John has been a Research Horticulturalist for much of his career, mostly with the Queensland Citrus Industry. He has 44 years of experience as a Research Horticulturist and Administrator in the Queensland Government, including as including as General Manager of Horticulture & Forestry Science in the Agri-Science division of the Queensland Department of Agriculture & Fisheries (DAF) for six years and then Executive Director of Agri-Science, DAF, for five years.
