Dr William Kerua is an Associate Professor and Head of the Agribusiness and Extension Department of the College of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (CAFF) of Fiji National University (FNU). And William holds an Adjunct Associate Professor in Agricultural Extension and Agribusiness at the Australian Centre for Pacific Islands Research (ACPIR).
Prior to joining FNU, William was the Acting Director of the South Pacific Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (SPISARD) with the PNG University of Technology empowering sustainable agricultural community development and research programmes. William has more than 30 years academic experience in teaching, research, managerial, development and consultancy work aligned to various Pacific universities and institutions in extension and rural community development challenges pertaining to development and changes in Pacific Island countries. William has been involved in several ACIAR projects in PNG and is currently the team leader of the ACIAR FNU Landcare Fiji project.
William’s research focus includes, Pacific agricultural extension systems, rural policy and governance, rural systems management, sustainable agriculture & food systems, rural entrepreneurship and innovation, and sustainable livelihood.
