Adjunct Professor Chien-Wen Liew

Adjunct Professor Chien-Wen Liew (MBBS, FRACS)

Dr Chien-Wen Liew was born and trained in Adelaide, South Australia, before undergoing specific training on hip and knee techniques in France, Switzerland and the USA. A dedicated practice to solely hip and knee replacement surgery, Dr Liew chooses to focus on refining the surgical technique and improving surgical outcomes through a focus on collaboration with thought leaders in orthopaedic surgery. His philosophy is one which prioritises the soft tissue around the hip and knee whilst maximising accuracy through pre-operative planning. Through the use of 3 dimensional pre-operative planning and intra-operative technology, Dr Liew aims to improve the longevity and functional outcomes of his patients.

He has been a trainer of the direct anterior approach for total hip replacements and patient specific technology for total knee replacements for many years - training surgeons internationally and nationally. Dr Liew is a member of the AMIS Hip Advisory Board and has a role in implant and instrument designs. Visit: Dr Chien-Wen Liew for specific hip and knee replacement information.
