Field trip symposium 2021
Field Trip

9am—7pm, Saturday 25 September 2021
Online, Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens and UniSC

Field Trip was a partnership between Horizon Festival, UniSC Art Gallery, UniSC School of Business and Creative Industries, ANAT and Arts Front.

Field Trip was an international research symposium investigating creative practice at the intersection of art, science, technology and the environment.

The hybrid 'live and digital' symposium explored the ethics of interdisciplinary art and illuminated how vital creativity is in responding to the climate crisis and reimagining our future.

The event featured some of Australia’s leading artists, designers and academics and included keynote presentations, panels, interactive artworks and participatory experiences that explored the possibilities of presenting ecologically engaged creative work in virtual environments.

Field Trip brought together First Nations knowledge systems, creativity, new technologies and interdisciplinary thinking to confront our past, present and possible futures.
