Description
This course explores the development of family therapy, examining the theoretical frameworks and skills offered by different models and their major contributions to the field. Emphasis is given to current trends such as managed care, family diversity and multiculturalism within a paradigm of respect and client empowerment. Developmental/integrative counselling are considered as a means of maximizing the effectiveness of therapeutic intervention. Professional and ethical aspects impacting on family counselling are also explored.
