Description
Community Work is a multidisciplinary tool of empowerment and social change. Undertaking community work is not a simply a matter of applying theoretical knowledge of community development, social change and social inequality to practice. It requires the bringing together of practical skills, which are themselves are derived from a range of disciplines, and the understanding and analysis of one's self and values. This course introduces students to community work practice through field education or practicum, an educational experience by which students learn through actual engagement in the complex and diverse practices of community agencies.
