Environmental Monitoring

Description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of environmental monitoring program design, and the collection and interpretation of environmental data. In the first instance, students examine the purpose of environmental monitoring, the processes involved in developing a sound monitoring program and the issues associated with those processes. Students will gain hands on experience with collection and the analysis of environmental data. They are then required to critically question the functions of monitoring by exploring different monitoring approaches and options for resolving an issue of local or regional importance.
