Description
This course addresses the academic and cultural literacy requirements of non-English speaking background students across all disciplines offered in the University. From a cross-cultural perspective, the course examines aspects of academic culture, as well as the intellectual tradition that has shaped Australian universities. Approaches
to knowledge and textural practices that have developed in the disciplines taught at the University will be covered, with explicit reference to linguistic and cultural elements that determine a successful transition into a new academic culture.
This course is not available to students from a non-English speaking background.
